Appointments Of Elders / Ministerial Servants Etc. In Contrast With Those Claiming To Be Of The Anointed .
by smiddy inaccording to jw beliefs the anointed / 144000 are going to rule with jc for a thousand years .as kings rev:20;4 .
i think they , the anointed , would be more important in the scheme of things than an elder or a ministerial servant in any congregation.. yet for the most part , they have no say or any position in any of the congregations in the world , and certainly not if they are female , however heaven accepts female anointed ones.. yet here on earth ,along with there service , elders and ministerial servants , with the holy spirits blessing , are appointed to there position in the congregation.. apparently there is no such scrutiny , guidelines or procedures in place , no holy spirit , or performance of service to determine who is an anointed person , so that any tom dick or harry ,mary jane or joan can claim to be an anointed person and it is accepted by the watchtower organization .. .
can you imagine every male claiming to be an elder in a congregation if you use the same guideline/ leeway that is given to the anointed ?.

To understand this we have to go back to Russell's mission, which was to gather the "bride-class" out of the churches of Christendom.
As time passed the "Bride of Christ" became less important than Christ's investment managers.

Chaos at Brooklyn Bethel 12/2016
by James Jack inthis was how it was described to me yesterday by a brother who has been there for some 40 years.
"everyone is about gone; the governing body is set to leave within 2 months; the kitchen and laundry personnel are gone and i have to fend for myself now.".
"also the aggravation of 4 to 5 business men in suits with clipboards daily checking out the watchtower properties.

The most important thing is that you honor the oath you made in the parousia of an invisible imaginary non-existent father-of-the-unicorns to never act in your own best interest, always act in a way pleasing to spineless weaklings who think everyone should be as weak and spineless as they are because if they're not, they are mean people.
Don't ever be "selfish" - always leave the last cookie for anyone who says they want it more than you.
Always take your most urgent personal issues to arbitration before a board of incompetent internet strangers because they really do *CARE SO MUCH* about your eternal happiness with a money-back gar-un-tee.
Find the biggest dysfunctional internet clown you can and become his disciple/uchi-deshi. Even better if that clown is a spinster female who has never been asked to dance.
That's just my opinion, you'll find many contrary ones here - follow ALL OF THEM.
The doctor is out - of his mind.

Do our loved pets come back when we do?
by Nichole ini have recently started studying and im really enjoying learning all about the truth!
i am a huge animal lover and have my dog trixie for 11 years now, i got her when i was 12 years old and she has been the best friend and companion, i am so lucky and grateful to have her at my side every single day!
i get worried a lot about what will happen when the time comes that she has to leave me, anytime i even think about it i start to cry because it would break my heart not to have her with me anymore!

Seriously?
First you should know that this discussion board is populated primarily with JW "apostates", although we prefer to be called XJWs. So the likelyhood of you getting a WTB&TS approved reply here is slim.
Second, do you have any grasp of basic Christian theology?
In it, ADAM & EVE sinned, and the "ransom" of Jesus was supposed to buy MANKIND - ADAM'S kids - back into God's good graces.
The bible doesn't suggest anywhere that animals of any kind will live after death anywhere except at your local BBQ shack.
Sorry to harsh your mellow, but that's what the bible says.

Creative day 7000 years, is this correct and how did the Org come up with this idea?
by Crazyguy inany body know?
-
Nathan Natas
Wow, BLONDIE is amazing, isn't she?
In synopsis:
A. NOWHERE in the Bible does it say specifically how long a creative day is supposed to have been.
B. The 7,000-year-long creative day is NOT something The Watchtower came up with; the idea has floated around in Christendom since well before 1878 and "Pastor" Russell, take a look at the Ussher chronology from the 17th century, you'll see a similar "let's count backwards" methodology, although the WTB&TS and Ussher use different dates and arrive at different conclusions. In fact, if you do the legwork you can find that the idea predates Christianity and Judaism.
But the Watchtower says it shuns false doctrines, so some prehistoric religion must have been visited by the TROOTH FAIRY!
You might find this interesting:
(from http://www.biblebaptistpublications.org/gods7000yearplan.html)
"...A Neglected Doctrine
The idea that God has a 7,000 year plan is not a new one. In fact, it has been around for many centuries. The Epistle of Barnabas taught it in the first century A.D. by stating that “in six days, that is, in six thousand years, all things will be finished . . . This meaneth: when His Son, coming [again], shall destroy the time of the wicked man, and judge the ungodly, and change the-sun, and the moon, and the stars, then shall He truly rest on the seventh day.” (Epistle of Barnabas, XV verses 4-6) Irenaeus taught it in the second century, Commodianus in the third century, and in the fourth century Lactantius wrote that “the world must continue in its present state through six ages, that is, six thousand years . . . at the end of the six thousandth year all wickedness must be abolished from the earth, and righteousness reign for a thousand years…” (The Epitome of the Divine Institutes, Chapter 70)
We quote such authors because we believe they understood what the Bible had taught all along about God’s prophetic plan and that these truths have been neglected for centuries by most scholars and commentators, largely because it was a seemingly insignificant doctrine centuries ago and it is a negative and uncomfortable doctrine to many today. Our position is that a Bible doctrine is a Bible doctrine, regardless of what people think of it, and it should be taught."

Watchtower crackdown on anointed expansion - are they reaching for a solution to the expanding numbers problem?
by slimboyfat inif this has been discussed i missed it.
i think the january study watchtower is a concerted attempt to reduce the numbers claiming to be anointed.
but i love the sneaky way they go about it this time.

I have to admit I haven't followed this as closely as I used to.
Talesin is correct, in the old days of the 1960s and 1970s it was not at all unusual for women to claim the anointed calling. There was one in my NYC congregation (Ann Sabalow, now deceased) and I recall that Rick Fearon's wife Inez (also now deceased) claimed the anointed calling too.
Do we have any numbers for this social phenomenon? How much have the ranks of the anointed grown in recent years?
